The Showdown...

I was in our garden last night picking our fresh strawberries, when I came across something I was not really expecting...snake skin. Ugggghhhhh!!!! Man oh man, you have never seen someone jerk their hand back so fast. Now from personal experience, I can honestly tell you that I do not do well with spiders, mice, flying insects and most of all...snakes. Let's just call it "being a girl" okay.

It's just my luck he'd pick my garden to live in. I told my children about it when I came in and my oldest son thought it was so very cool. "Just think Mom, maybe that's why you haven't had any chipmunk problems this year". not helping sweetie...I smiled. "Snakes eat mice, bugs and all sorts of creatures. It's great that he's living there, Mom". still not helping... I was smiling less at this point. "Besides snakes are carnivorous. They won't touch your strawberries." really not smiling...then I must look good and tasty with the weight I've gained.

There's going to be a showdown this summer...

  1. Oh, this must be the week for snakes! Ours was an Eastern King snake. Guess he didnt know this is the Pacific NW. I'm still laughing when I think about all the vacations the chipmunks had last year...or where they got dropped off! ;-)

    Love and miss you,
    Mom
